We are a design firm located in Katy Texas, but we also provide design services if you live outside of the area through our Mail Order Decorator or eDesign service.

Mail Order Decorator is a great way to enlist the help of a professional Interior Designer if you are on a budget but still want great style. It is a great way to decorate in stages – one room at a time at your own pace, or if you are a DIY-er at heart and enjoy managing your own design project. Our Mail Order Decorator service is a great way to take advantage of the wide range of design services offered by Casa Vilora Interiors for a fraction of the cost.

We will give you everything you need to know to create a stunning result, including a furniture plan, fabric and paint samples, a shopping list, and thorough instructions for turning your dream interior into a reality.

Here’s how it works

Mail Order Decorator works very much like regular design projects done by Casa Vilora Interiors except for a few key things – Everything happens via mail and email instead of face-to-face. All selections for Mail Order Decorator projects are available online or locally, as opposed to the custom and trade-only options used for our full-service design clients.

To prepare your design plan, we rely on digital photographs and thorough measurements of your space that you provide, so we never actually visit your home. We provide you with a guide to taking precise photographs and measurements, once you sign on as an M.O.D. client. This will ensure that our finished design is completely personalized for your space. We will also have you fill out our M.O.D. client profile so we know all about you. The more we know about your likes and dislikes, the better we are able to create a design that represents your unique personality and style.

Once we have all of this information we set to work on your project. Then in 4-6 weeks, you will receive a personalized plan for creating a Casa Vilora Interiors inspired interior. Here is what you can expect to receive:

  • Your very own private, personalized, password protected page on our website. A link will be emailed to you along with your password and instructions for full acces. This page will include all drawings, documents, mood boards and photographs with the specifics for your design project. Your private page is active for 90 days, so we encourage you to save all files to your computer.

  • The files you receive include a concept board, a floor-plan of your room, furniture placement drawn to scale, selections for furniture and accessories, elevations (per project) of important details for your space, window treatment design, an organized shopping guide complete with pricing, and thorough instructions on how to implement your design.

  • A samples packet sent via mail with the paint swatches, fabrics samples, and wallcoverings that we have selected for your project.

  • Up to two revisions is included and must be requested within 14 days of receiving your design plan. Any additional revisions will be charged an hourly fee.

Are You Ready to Get Started?
  • Once we receive your payment, we will get the process started to your customized Mail Order Decorator room

  • We then ask you to forward digital photos of the space or spaces that we will be working on as well as some exterior photos of your home, so that we fully understand the architectural style with which we are working.

  • Next, we will need accurate measurements of the space we are designing. We provide you with a step-by-step guide for both measuring and photographing your space to ensure we have just what we need to get started.

  • We need an idea of the budget for the room’s furnishings. You will have an opportunity to indicate this on the design questionnaire that you will fill out. As a guide you can expect to spend up to $10,000 on a savvy budget, $10,000 to $18,000 on a fabulous budget, and over $18,000 on a luxe budget. This is just a guide – you determine your budget, but we recommend a budget of no less than $5,000

  • We will also need an idea of what you love and the feel you want to achieve in your space. We gain insight for this through a design questionnaire and inspiration photos that you collect from magazines, blogs and other sources. These images also need to be sent via email.

  • We will send you a status email at least once per week with the progress until the final design is delivered to you. We will also respond to any questions or concerns you may have emailed to us in this weekly status email.

  • We will be happy to provide “service after the sale” up to 14 days after the final design has been delivered to you.
